I started crushing on Amanda back in 2003 when I first saw “What a Girl Wants”.
Something about the story really drew me in. And Amanda playing the freespirited heroine made me think, gosh, I wish I could be more like that. Not caring what people think about me, just being myself.
Of course, she’s super attractive. I like her best in this picture, not too curvy, but undoubtedly feminine. So between the slightly tomboy-ish outfit, slim figure, and a (very) slight similarity in our facial features, I found it easy to imagine myself as her in this picture.
She’s not afraid to be funny and make silly faces. But at the same time, she’s so adorable. And there’s something about her voice that’s just amazing. Sigh. Wish I could be her.
I didn’t really get into her TV show. But I did catch “Sydney White” and “She’s the Man” and enjoyed both of those movies too.
She usually plays a heroine who doesn’t quite fit in, and you really root for her to succeed. She’s got a lot of heart and never gives up. That’s the sort of person I wish I could be. I really identified with the roles that she chose to play. It’s too bad “She’s the Man” wasn’t the other way around. It would have been awesome if she started out as a boy who had to pretend to be a girl!
