I’ve been trying to figure out how to illustrate this concept for a long time. I finally came up with something. It’s almost capturing what I want to say, but there’s something that’s still not as strong a statement as I’d like.
I might make a bunch of these with different color combinations.
I like the concept because it shows that the mind and body don’t always match. It also shows that while we think of gender as pure “pink” or “blue”, reality is that nobody is really pure pink or blue. We’re all different shades.
We also think that we get a trait either from our mother or from our father. This is what we were taught in biology during school. But I think reality is that we get a mix of both. Like my hair color is not my mom’s or my dad’s. It’s darker than my mom’s, but lighter than my dad’s.
If that can happen, then why can’t I be a mix of male and female too?
In fact, that’s what I am. You just can’t tell from appearances.
