Just a quick little update.
I’ve been feeling pretty down lately and decided that part of the reason is because of lack of sleep and exercise.
I hate the gym. I don’t like competitive sports. I tried walking but the weather hasn’t always cooperated.
So I decided that I would try calisthenics or some kind of aerobics at home. Then I thought, why not try dancing?
Today I decided to try belly dancing. I watched some videos on YouTube and started to learn. It feels pretty silly because it reminds me that I’m not in the right body. But since it’s just me, I went through the lessons anyway. I learned that I am very out of shape, despite not being too overweight. It takes a lot of stamina to keep my arms in the right positions. I think it will be a good workout to get started with. And because it’s a very feminine style of dance, it lets me express my inner girl a little bit more, which I think will also help keep me interested.
After the past week of more regular exercise, I do feel like I’ve got more energy and can feel my mood lifting just a little bit.
